Nala gave it a smell first then started tearing off strips of bark. Her success at the task worked herself into a frenzy. Not pictured, she would jump 7-8 ft into the air and chomp off a chunk of bark. I can only speculate what might have motivated her to begin but she was having so much fun I can understand why she continued until she was exhausted and hot from the exercise.
